Beginning in 1989, Professor Tom Haggard’s popular column “The Scrivener” appeared in the South Carolina Lawyer offering practical and scholarly advice on legal writing. In 1996, the CLE Division reprinted and published all of his columns in book form. Due to its popularity and usefulness as a resource tool, the Second Edition was released with even more great tips on the art of legal writing.
In 2000, Professor Haggard’s authorship ended, and in November 2002 Scott Moïse picked up The Scrivener’s quill pen making her own inestimable published contributions to the art of legal writing.
